Question: “I’ve heard that I have to go off medication to come to your clinic. Is that always true? Why?”

Answer:

  • The short answer is: It depends. We do have several studies for which patients must not be in need of a psychiatric medication in order to be eligible.  Whether or not you are in need of a medication is an issue that must be determined with your current treatment providers.  There are also cases in which being on certain medications does not interfere with research participation. It depends both on the medication and the particular study; to learn more about your particular case, call us at 646-774-8066.
