Question: “What can you tell me about the current studies?”

Answer: We routinely offer a variety of studies for both inpatients and outpatients at the Center. Participation is voluntary. Patients are encouraged to ask lots of questions about the research studies in which they are considering participating, and to take part in as much research as possible. Please note that these studies change from time to time, so it’s always a good idea to give us a call to hear about any new developments.

Currently, we have several studies specifically for patients with anorexia nervosa including one looking at decisions regarding food choices, one looking at brain structure and connectivity while in an fMRI scanner, and one outpatient medication trial.

We also offer three studies for patients diagnosed with bulimia nervosa: one examining the biology of dieting and weight, one looking at decisions regarding food choices, and the third studying brain characteristics in an fMRI scanner.

All of our patients also participate in structured interviews and questionnaires prior to and/or throughout treatment.

In addition, we are recruiting healthy kids, ages 5-10 to learn more about food choices in children.

You can obtain more information regarding our studies on our website or by calling our main clinic line at (646) 774-8066. We are open Monday through Friday between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
